Program Description

To train experts who can offer solutions by combining the manpower needed by the health sector with hospital management knowledge as well as basic management knowledge.

Purpose of the Program

The aim of the health institutions management program is to prepare the manager candidates needed by health institutions for business life with not only theoretical but also practical training. It is to bring qualified and qualified intermediate staff with both business knowledge and hospital management knowledge to the health sector.

To be a respected department that has a constructive effect on the development of the Turkish health system and policies, provides education at contemporary standards in line with today's needs, and trains competent managers in the field of health by providing national and international knowledge through scientific research.

Serik Gülsün Süleyman Süral Vocational School, Health Institutions Management Department, our students; nationally and internationally competitive, based on fulfilling the duties that require ethical responsibility in health, adopting and spreading interdisciplinary cooperation and teamwork in the field of health, using science and technology to increase the health and quality of life of the society, researching, respectful to human values, able to think critically, to train professionals with the necessary knowledge and skills in the field of profession. In addition, they have basic health knowledge, hospital management and management knowledge for quality, efficient and effective service delivery in the field of health services; is to bring qualified individuals equipped with the knowledge and skills to apply the techniques related to planning, organization, execution, coordination and supervision functions to the health sector.

The healthcare industry is one of the fastest growing service industries. Especially in recent years, technological developments and transformations in the medical world have made the health sector one of the most important sectors. Health institutions are among the institutions where the number of personnel and at the same time the specialization is the most intense. The input of the health institutions is the sick person and the output is the treated person, and the health institutions serve all day long, every day of the year; increasing its importance and numbers day by day. The need for trained manpower in this field will increase as the need to manage health institutions with a modern management approach is felt more and more.

Employment Opportunities

Students who graduate from this program with sufficient knowledge and skills will receive the title of health technician and have administrative, financial and support units in the health sector; human resources, service management, accounting and financial management, marketing, public relations, health law, quality management in health services, all public and private hospitals, medical centers and polyclinics, health insurance units of social security institutions, private health insurance companies, pharmaceuticals , companies producing or importing medical equipment and devices, companies conducting research and training in the field of health, administrative units of health tourism companies, nursing homes and rehabilitation centers, dialysis units and oral and dental health centers, health services units of local governments, and health services belonging to associations or foundations organizations can work in private and public hospitals, branch / private branch hospitals (eye, dental, heart, etc.), family health centers, etc. in many health institutions.

Program Graduation Conditions

In order to graduate from the program, it is necessary to have taken and succeeded all of the 120 ECTS courses given in 4 semesters. For the evaluation of success, two different evaluations called "Absolute Evaluation and Relative Evaluation" are carried out in all units of Akdeniz University. One of these methods is selected with the preference of the relevant instructor and the letter grade is calculated according to the evaluation criteria. The student who fulfills the success conditions in the Akdeniz University Education and Exam Regulations is entitled to graduate.

According to the DGS guide published by ÖSYM, our graduates can learn from different universities; They can transfer to Business Administration, Business Administration, Health Administration, Health Administration undergraduate programs.
