Admission and Registration Conditions
Our program accepts students with the TYT score type in the exam conducted by OSYM. Students are not accepted to our program after passing from vocational high schools without examination. Students with high school and high school equivalent diplomas who meet the provisions specified in the relevant legislation of the Council of Higher Education and the relevant regulations of Akdeniz University are accepted to our program.

Program Description
The Optician program in the Department of Medical Services and Techniques within Serik Gülsün-Süleyman Süral Vocational School; eye health is a program that provides education and training in basic courses that form the infrastructure for the construction, production, use, sale of tools used to correct eye and vision defects and to understand these courses.

Purpose of the Program
It is aimed to train opticians who determine, select and prepare vision devices suitable for prescriptions prepared by specialist doctors and supervise their compliance with the user, who know the operation of a business from management to accounting and its relationship with official institutions, who are aware of the general, health, and ethical problems related to their profession and the solutions to these problems and the precautions to be taken. .

Vision
To be a program that follows scientific, technological and production developments, helps to eliminate the lack of equipped opticians in the sector, and contributes to research and development studies.

Mission
It trains opticians who have sufficient theoretical and practical equipment and are conscious of professional ethics.

The Need of the Industry
The importance of visual aids in terms of eye health, the preference of using visual aids instead of glasses (in terms of difficulty/ease or return/lump), the need for eye protection glasses (such as sunglasses, etc.) ), in cases where attention should be paid to the use of glasses as accessories, issues such as awareness and awareness show the sectoral need.

Employment Opportunities
Although the importance of glasses in terms of eye and vision health is known, the use of preferred technological innovations (such as contact lenses) instead of glasses reveals the profession of opticians as an important employment area in the future. The lack of trained personnel in the sector also shows that opticians is a promising program. Graduated students can open their own optical stores with the title of health technician, they can also work as sales representatives, store managers, opticians in optician institutions, stores that make or sell eyeglasses. In addition, starting from the basic field courses included in the curricula, it allows students to vertically transfer to one of the departments of Physics, Physics Engineering, Emergency Aid and Disaster Management, Health Management, Optics and Acoustic Engineering and continue their graduate education.

Program Graduation Conditions
In order to graduate from the program, students must fulfill the success conditions in the Akdeniz University Education-Training and Examination Regulations.

Vertical Transition Sections
Our graduates can transfer vertically to Physics, Physics Engineering, Optical and Acoustic Engineering Undergraduate Programs of different universities according to their Vertical Transfer Exam Results.
