Admission and Registration Conditions

Lawn Establishment and Management Program accepts students in the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT) score type. The registration dates of the students placed in the program by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) and the documents to be requested during registration are determined by ÖSYM and the university.

Program Description

The Lawn Establishment and Management Program is a two-year (four semesters) higher education program that provides training in the cultivation, reproduction, maintenance and application of grass plants. Within the scope of the program, our students are trained in practice, and they take courses on grass plant production techniques, ornamental grass, golf course design principles, lawn facility and management practices.

Purpose of the Program

The aim of the program is to be qualified, talented, experienced, enterprising, dynamic and have an interprofessional knowledge-coordination base, able to grow, reproduce, maintain and apply grass plants, create grass surfaces for rural, urban and private areas, To train qualified intermediate staff equipped with theoretical and practical knowledge, who can recognize and classify grass plants and have an idea about their use, can do maintenance and repair, use natural and cultural resources on the basis of sustainability, speak the same language as landscape architects and agricultural engineers.

To be a program that trains well-equipped intermediate staff in the field of Lawn Facilities and Management, renews and develops itself. In the program, it is aimed to train intermediate staff who are equipped with the technical issues needed by the sector and who have the competency for practice and who can assist engineers and landscape architects.

To raise qualified individuals who are productive, researcher, self-confident, sensitive to ethical values, contributing to the development of relevant sectors, contributing to socio-cultural life in society, having sufficient technical education, knowledge and skills, adapting to changing conditions, and following technological developments.

The Need of the Industry

There is a need for intermediate staff who can undertake all kinds of activities such as the creation, maintenance and management of hotels, holiday villages, golf courses, football fields and turf fields that will meet the needs of the public and private sectors in the Antalya-Serik region, which is one of the important tourism centers of our country and provides great inputs to the country's economy.

Employment Opportunities

The title of “Grass Technician” is given to those who have completed the Lawn Area Installation and Management program. Grass Technicians, as an assistant to landscape architects and agricultural engineers, have work areas such as making the soil ready for sowing grass seeds or planting ready grass, carrying out maintenance activities such as irrigation, fertilization, fighting against diseases and pests, and marketing these grasses in ready-made grass sales companies.

Graduates of the program can work as intermediate technical staff, mid-level managers or administrative technical personnel in the production, maintenance and marketing of grass plants in large, medium and small-sized enterprises operating in the field of grass in many provinces and districts in our country, especially in the Antalya Serik region. Working areas, park and garden directorates of municipalities, ready-made turf production companies, companies providing landscape architecture services, football fields, golf courses, etc. businesses operating in the field of grass.

Program Graduation Conditions

The duration of the Grass Field Installation and Management program is 2 years (4 semesters). In order for students to graduate from the program, they must fulfill the conditions specified in the Akdeniz University Education and Examination Directive.
